"No Lockdown In MP" Announced CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan On Wednesday

Since Maharashtra has announced lockdown, rumors started surfacing among the people of Madhya Pradesh as well as cases of covid-19 surged in the two major hubs Indore and Bhopal within 24 hours. On Wednesday, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a video-conferencing meeting with officials said there will no fresh lockdown in the state.

Wednesday evening CM held a Corona review meeting to review the condition of districts across the state and announced some major decisions for migrant laborers.

Here are the highlights of the meeting.

More Precautions Are Required

Corona cases are higher in Indore and Bhopal but Betul, Chindwara, Jabalpur, and many more districts are advised to take special precautions to curb the cases. Fresh 139 cases in Indore, 70 In Bhopal, and 15 in Betul were reported within 24 hours.

No Events In The State

Due to increasing cases, upcoming events in Betul, Chindwara, Panchmari, and other districts are postponed.

Employment Under MNREGA

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also requested labors residing at the state borders not to migrate for work. They will get employment under the MNREGA scheme to prevent migration.

Negative Covid Report Is Mandatory

And for those entering the state from Maharashtra are mandatory to go under screening. Only those with the covid-19 negative report are allowed to enter Madhya Pradesh.

Situations in several areas of Madhya Pradesh are concerning due to the sudden spike in cases even though they are not as high in other states. The concerning part is the Shivratri for which several devotees across the borders to participate in the events held during the occasion.

Therefore, people are advised to follow the guidelines strictly. Apart from this, CM has also laid orders to all the district collectors to conduct a campaign for raising awareness among the people.

Mask and social distancing are even more important now as the state has a total of 2.6 lakh cases and a 4.6 percent of positivity rate.
