Nirbhaya Finally Gets Justice! Know Her Convicts’ Last Wishes

Amid the chaos and deserted streets, India won a trophy with the hanging of the four convicts of the Nirbhaya rape case. They were hanged today at 5.30 am at Delhi’s Tihar jail. Justice was served seven years after Nirbhaya was brutally raped and thrown out of a moving bus.

Nirbaya finally got justice after a wait of seven long years after the horrific gang-rape as well as murder. She was a 23 years old student who got brutally raped by these four convicts.

Nirbhaya verdict

Before hanging the convicts, all four were asked for their last wishes.

One of the four convicts, Mukesh, said he would love to give his body organs. Another convict Vinay Sharma said he wanted his paintings to be provided to the Jail superintendent and ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ painting to his family.

However, none of the convicts had said anything on their will.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his twitter to express his sentiments: He wrote:

“Justice has prevailed.

It is of utmost importance to ensure the dignity and safety of women.

Our Nari Shakti has excelled in every field. Together, we have to build a nation where the focus is on women empowerment, where there is an emphasis on equality and opportunity”.

“Justice has finally been done, and women will definitely feel safer now. We will request the Supreme Court to issue guidelines so that no one can adopt delaying tactics in such cases in future,” Said Nibhaya’s Mother.

A big thanks to Advocate Seema Kushwaha, Nirbhaya’s Family lawyer who fought the case for seven years and three months for the justice of Nirbhaya. Hats off to her courage and self-beliefs as she didn’t give up and gave the best news of 2020 to the people of India.
