Volkswagen India has launched the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line in the country at a starting price of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom). The R-Line model is based on the third generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Customer deliveries of the SUV will begin on April 23, 2025.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will be sold alongside the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The SUV can be booked on the automaker’s official website as well as physical sales outlets. However, the Volkswagen Golf GTI will be sold only through the company’s online sales channel.
The sporty SUV will be sold in India as a fully imported model through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is expected to be priced starting at Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). It will compete with the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross.
Engine power and transmission
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It has the company’s 4Motion all-wheel drive technology, which powers all four wheels. This engine generates 201 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The vehicle also has dynamic chassis control, which gives better stability at high speeds and makes the drive very smooth.
Strong look and design
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is built on an updated version of the company’s new MQB Evo platform. In which the design has been given a very sporty touch. This SUV is available in six different colour options. Which includes colours like Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic.
