Railways has made a big change in the promotion rules of employees. For this, now there will be centralized computer based test (CBT) by the Railway Board, not at the local level. All Railway Recruitment Boards will issue the exam calendar for this. Promotion exams will be conducted on the basis of the calendar issued by RRB.

The Chief Public Relations Officer said that the Railways has taken this decision in view of the bad experience of previous examinations. It was decided that in the Computer Based Test (CBT), the candidates are also shown the question paper, answer sheet and answer key. There is also enough opportunity to object to the questions asked and the mistakes in the answers. This greatly reduces the possibility of irregularities.

1. According to the rules issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, if the police or other investigating agencies file a report against any officer or employee, then he will be considered suspended.

2. Other eligibility related documents and data such as caste, certificate number, mobile number, identification marks, photo, signature, date of birth and qualification will be clearly defined and captured.

3. Open tenders will be issued to conduct the examination. Only the agency fulfilling various criteria will be selected for this. Railway team will audit the examination center.

4. There should not be any bathroom outside the center. 100 percent CCTV coverage and recording will be done two hours before and one hour after the exam. Arrangement of monitoring has been made through CCTV.

5. The information about the exam city will be shared 10 days in advance and the information about the exam center will be shared four days in advance. The exam centers will be allotted through computerized process.
