Hyundai Motor India has announced the launch date of the facelift model of SUV Hyundai Alcazar. The South Korean company will launch the car in the Indian market on September 9. Its starting price can be kept at Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom) and this three-row SUV is based on the Hyundai Creta. The facelift version will get extensive upgrades in the model including new features. Let’s know about it.
Design update of Hyundai Alcazar
Exterior: New split LED headlights and connected LED DRL’s
- Hyundai Alcazar was launched in India in 2021, since then it has not received any update. The new Alcazar has been seen several times during testing, which shows that the car will see changes like the Hyundai Creta facelift launched earlier this year.
- The front of the updated Alcazar can also be given new split LED headlights and connected LED daytime running lamps (DRL’s) from Creta. The grille can be kept different from the new Creta.
- At the same time, the side profile will be similar to the current model, but new alloy wheels will be available. The rear of the new car will be different from the Creta, as the spy shots show vertically shaped connected LED taillamps.
Interior: 10.25 inch dual displays will be available
- The new Alcazar will have the same interior as the new Creta, but it will have a different theme. The car will have a 10.25 inch dual display, one of which will be the infotainment system and the other will be the driver display.
- Apart from this, features like panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 8-speaker Bose sound system and wireless phone charging will be provided. The car will come with 6 and 7 seater options as before.
Engine and specifications of Hyundai Alcazar
The Alcazar facelift will get the option of petrol and diesel units only. The current model is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of power, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of power. The petrol motor is mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT, while the diesel is available with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic. Hyundai previously offered the Alcazar with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as well, which was discontinued in 2023.
36 standard safety features and 19 level-2 ADAS features
The SUV will get 36 safety features as standard like the Creta. This includes features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and all-wheel disc brakes. Apart from this, safety features like 3-point seatbelts with reminder for all passengers, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts will also be available as standard in the car.
The facelifted Creta has been given Level-2 ADAS technology like the new Verna sedan. It has features like Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning in Creta through sensors and front camera.
