Honda Cars India has today (4 December) launched the facelift model of its popular sedan Honda Amaze in India. The company has introduced the third generation Amaze with a new exterior design, new interior and advanced features. The company claims that the car will give a mileage of 19.46kmpl with CVT transmission.
The updated sub-compact sedan is available in 3 variants and 6 colours and is priced at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh, going up to Rs 10.89 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom pan India) for the top variant. These are introductory prices which are available for just 45 days. After this, the prices will be increased.
Honda Amaze: Exterior
- In terms of design, the front of the new Amaze features a large and upright grille.
- It is flanked by twin pod projector headlights on either side. Below, it features a simple and clean bumper with projector fog lamps.
- The side design is similar to the current model, but here newly designed 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels are available. These have 185-section tyres.
- The rear profile of the car is quite similar to the new Amaze City. The tail lamp, boot lid design and rear bumper are quite similar to the City.
- Other exterior highlights include LED headlights, Z-shaped LED taillights, shark fin antenna and a chrome strip above the grille.
- The new Amaze has been designed at the Honda R&D Asia Pacific Center in Thailand.
- The new Honda Amaze is available in 6 colour options including the new Opsidian Blue colour – Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.
Honda Amaze: interior
The overall layout of the cabin of the new Amaze looks similar to that of the Honda Elevate. It has a black and beige theme like the old model. There is a 10.25-inch free-standing infotainment system with a digital cluster on the dashboard and a 3-spoke steering wheel. All seats have beige leatherette upholstery, adjustable headrests and 3-point seatbelts.
The new Amaze comes with a semi-digital driver display, auto AC with rear vents and wireless phone charger. It also gets paddle shifters, although these are only offered in the automatic variant.
Other features include automatic climate control, 6-speaker sound system, rear AC vents, 460-litre boot space, wireless charger, remote start with AC control, Honda Connect connected car technology with 5 years of free membership, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Honda Amaze: Features
For safety, the new generation Amaze has been equipped with 6 airbags as standard, a new LaneWatch camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Honda will also get Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like Lane-Keep Assist and Forward Collision Warning.
Honda Amaze: performance
There has been no mechanical change in the new Amaze. The car has a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine for performance. This E-20 compliant engine generates 90hp of power and 110Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine is available with the option of 5-speed manual and CVT automatic.
The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 19.46kmpl with CVT automatic transmission and 18.65kmpl with 5-speed MT. Honda is offering a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited kilometres with the car. Customers can extend it to 7 years with unlimited kilometres.
Honda Amaze: Price
The new Honda Amaze has been launched in three trim levels which include V, VX and ZX trims. For a period of 45 days, the entry-level variant of the sedan will be sold at a starting price of ₹ 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). At the same time, the most expensive variant ZX variant will be priced at Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company has launched Honda Amaze in 6 color options. These colors are Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Lunar Silver Metallic.
