BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship adventure motorcycle R 1300 GS in India. The company claims that the bike can achieve a speed of 200kmph. The luxury and premium two-wheeler maker has introduced the bike in 5 variants based on kit and equipment.
Design of BMW R 1300 GS
- Its base variant has a light white color scheme. Along with this, it will also get electrically adjustable windscreen, dynamic suspension adjustment and multiple ride modes.
- Apart from this, pannier fasteners, hand protector extensions, chrome exhaust and comfort seats have also been provided in Triple Black 1.
- The BMW R 1300 GS has been designed in such a way that if you drive it in rough areas, you will not face any kind of problem.
- At the same time, it has headlight pro, gold cross-spoke wheels. Its top-spec variant gets a green colour scheme with gold cross-spoke rims and adaptive cruise control.
The engine of the BMW R 1300 GS is powerful
- All variations of the brand-new BMW R 1300 GS are powered via way of means of a 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer engine,
- which generates 145 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
- The engine is tuned to a new 6-speed gearbox, which features a bidirectional quickshifter for easy gear shifting. The engine continues to use shift-cam technology and runs on a higher compression ratio than the S1000RR.
- The bike gets optional dynamic suspension for damping and spring preload adjustment.
- BMW says that the new 1300 GS has lost 12kg of weight compared to the old 1250 GS. With a 19-litre fuel tank, the bike weighs 237 kg, although it holds one litre less fuel.
- Talking about other features, it also has switchable ABS, traction control, radar-assisted cruise control and a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console.
How much can the BMW R 1300 GS cost?
The R 1300 GS is priced at Rs 20.95 lakh, which is less than the Ducati Multistrada V4 line-up (Rs 21.48 lakh-31.48 lakh) and the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 Special (Rs 24.64 lakh). While the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is priced at Rs 19.19 lakh. Deliveries of the R 1300 GS are set to begin this month.
