NEET-UG 2024 why supreme court rejects

On Tuesday, July 23, the Supreme Court of India denied petitions seeking the cancellation and retest of the NEET-UG 2024 exam amid ongoing controversy. Despite the absence of evidence of a systemic leak of question papers and other malpractices, the Supreme Court refused to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam.

Reason Why Supreme Court Ruled Out Application To Re-Conduct NEET

Eligibility Criteria

1). The Supreme Court noted no evidence of a systemic leak of question papers or other errors. The CJI Chandrachud stated, “There is a lack of material to conclude that the result of the NEET-UG 2024 exam is vitiated or there is a systemic breach.”

On the other hand, the bench stated that the question paper leak did not dispute that it took place in Hazaribagh or Patna.

2). The SC bench also said that the court’s application of established principles based on the evidence in the record suggested that canceling the entire exam was “not justified.”

3).  SC said that guiding and other affirmation processes for NEET-UG 2024 will proceed. Guidelines issued by the Supreme Court will govern the conduct of future exams.

4).  The CJI Chandrachud-led bench stated that the students who took the NEET-UG 2024 exam could be distinguished from the untainted students.

5).  SC stated, “No student revealed to have been in this fraud or a beneficiary would be entitled to claim any vested right to continue admission.”

6 ). According to the Supreme Court, conducting a new NEET UG 2024 exam would have serious repercussions, affecting more than 24 lakh students who took it and disrupting the admissions schedule.
