Industrialist Gautam Adani also visited the Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) site and also met the teams associated with the project.

The Adani Group Chairman said, “The new airport is ready for inauguration in June and will redefine connectivity and growth. It is a true gift for India.” He said, “Congratulations to the Adani Airports team and partners for making this vision a reality.” In December last year, the first commercial validation flight was successfully completed with the landing of an IndiGo Airlines A320 aircraft at NMIAL, paving the way for the early operationalisation of the greenfield airport.

The flight test on runway 08/26 was monitored by senior officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), Customs, Immigration, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Maharashtra Municipal and Industrial Development Corporation Limited (CIDCO), India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) as well as Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and other key stakeholders.
Who Owns Navi Mumbai International Airport?
Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAL) has been formed to develop, construct, operate and maintain the Greenfield International Airport Project at Navi Mumbai. NMIAL is a part of Adani Airport Holdings Limited and is 74 per cent owned by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) and 26 per cent by CIDCO, a Maharashtra government undertaking.
