“My Home Country Needs Me,” Says Miss England 2019

England needs more medical help as it is one of the countries with the highest cases of covid-19. Seeing this urgency, Miss England 2019, who is also a junior doctor, went back to her home country. The British-Indian born Bhasha Mukherjee specializes in respiration medicines. Mukherjee, who is a brand ambassador of a charity community, Coventry Mercia Lions Club, was in Kolkata, India. She came in early March.

The 24-year old Mukherjee won the Title of Miss England in August 2019, after which she was receiving international offers. After winning the title, she was competing for Miss World in December 2019. But in the wake of the pandemic in England and the raising worse situations, she is returning to support the country.

“My country needs me and being a junior doctor and Miss England too, it’s my responsibility to help England,” she said. But she will return to work as a front line help after a week or two of self-isolation. It is because she wants to ensure that she is fit and work better for her country.

England alone is witnessing 758 deaths in one day, raising the total death toll of the UK to 6,000 so far. Even the UK’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is affected by covid-19. He is in ICU after his conditions become worse.
