The International footwear Bata for the first time in its history will be lead by an Indian. Sandeep Kataria who is leading Bata India since 2017 is now going to lead Bata on the global platform.

Monday’s announcement confirmed this step of the Bata Shoe Organization. Chairman Ashwini Windlass on this appointment of Sandeep Kataria said that Sandeep’s efforts and his extensive experience had lead to the exceptional growth of Bata India.

He is replacing Alexis Nasard as Global CEO. Sandeep joined Bata India’s CEO in August 2017. In his 25 years long career, he has worked with many big firms such as Vodafone India Ltd, Unilever, and Yum Brands.

Sandeep Kataria said on this elevation from Bata India’s CEO to Global CEO of Bata brands said, “I have been privileged to be part of Bata’s success in India and I look forward to building further on our proud, 120-year history as shoemakers to the world.”

He also said, “While 2020 has presented unique challenges, the appeal of our brands and the passion of our people provide every reason for confidence regarding our prospects in the years ahead.”
