Mercedes-Benz India will announce prices of the Mercedes Maybach EQS electric SUV on September 5. The EQS Maybach SUV made its debut in China last year and will join the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV in the brand’s India line-up. It is the brand’s flagship electric SUV globally, and to differentiate itself from the standard EQS SUV, it features Maybach-specific design, features and tech upgrades.

Mercedes Maybach EQS Exterior

The Maybach EQS SUV gets a lot of chrome highlights on the outside and Maybach logos all around, just like the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach GLS that recently went on sale in India. It gets a sealed black panel at the front that mimics the grille – this large panel actually houses the radar sensors for the ADAS – and also gets vertical chrome strips that give it a 3D look. The upper portion of the faux grille – like other Maybach models – has “Maybach” written in chrome.

On the sides, the Maybach EQS SUV has more chrome on the window line and B-pillar, and an additional Maybach logo on the D-pillar. It has “EQS” embossed on the window frame like the standard EQS SUV. Wheel and tyre options include 21- or 22-inch alloy and forged wheels with Maybach lettering. There are also factory-fitted illuminated running boards finished in anodised aluminium.

The dashboard of the Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV is similar to the regular EQS SUV – it has three separate screens that come with Maybach-specific graphics. Several special features on the screens include an animated display of the instrument cluster in Maybach mode.

The rear seat entertainment package includes two 11.6-inch displays on the front seatbacks. It also has an MBUX tablet at the rear, which can also be used outside the vehicle.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be offered in two electric powertrain options. Its top-spec 680 SUV has 4MATIC standard. It generates 658hp of power and 950Nm of peak torque. Its range is up to 600km. It takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 and has a top speed of 210kph. At the same time, the EQS 580 4Matic SUV generates a power output of 544hp and a range of up to 456km.

When will it be launched in India

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be launched in the Indian market on 5 September 2024. More information about it is expected at the time of its launch.
