German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelift version of Mercedes-AMG G63 in India on (22 October). The starting price of this car has been kept at RS 3.60 crore (ex-showroom Pan-India). This time this SUV has come more advanced than before. New design elements have been added to the car and its cabin has also been updated.
Apart from this, the car is provided with active suspension setup and 4 liter twin turbo mild hybrid petrol updated engine with 4 wheel drive setup. Not only this, this model can run without stopping even in 700mm deep water. The Mercedes AMG G63 does not have any direct competition.
Mercedes-Benz G63: Exterior
In terms of design, the 2024 Mercedes AMG G63 is similar to its previous model. Its shape is boxy and at the front, a black grill with 3 vertical slats is provided in front of the air inlet. Along with this, a new AMG logo has been given on the newly designed bumper and hood.
There are round projector based LED headlights on either side of the grille with circular LED DRLs and fender mounted turn indicators. The wheel design on the side has also been new and wheel options up to 22 inches are available in it. Apart from this, 31 color options and 29 seat upholstery options are available in the car.
Mercedes-Benz G63: interior
The cabin layout of the AMG G63 also remains the same. However, it has been given a new steering wheel and it is similar to the new generation cars of Mercedes AMG. In this, switches are provided for different functions.
The cabin gets Nappa leather upholstery on the seats and carbon fiber accents and customizable ambient lighting. It has been given software updates for 12.3-inch screens and its off-road cockpit has also been updated. Besides, augmented reality has also been provided in the navigation system.
Talking about the features, a 12.3-inch dual touch screen (one infotainment system and the other driver display) is provided on the dashboard. Features like an 18-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system, 3-zone auto AC and a sunroof are provided.
Mercedes-Benz G63: Performance
For performance, the new AMG G63 has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is paired with 48V mild hybrid technology. This setup generates maximum power of 576hp and torque of 850Nm. An additional boost of 20hp is also available during acceleration.
Talking about transmission, the engine is tuned with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car is equipped with the brand’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system which supplies power to all four wheels.
A new ‘Race Start’ function has also been provided in the SUV. With this, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 4.3 seconds. Its top speed is 240kmph. The special thing is that for the first time launch control feature has been provided in G63.
Apart from this, the car is equipped with AMG Active Ride Control suspension. This suspension system includes active hydraulic roll stabilization and adjustable damping. This gives the car smooth performance on all types of surfaces.
Mercedes-Benz G63: Features
For safety, the SUV has been provided with features like multiple airbags, 360-degree camera with blind spot assist and child ISOFIX anchor seat mount. Apart from this, it has also been provided with updated advanced driver assistance system features like Active Brake Assist and Lane Keep Assist.
The new AMG G63 has 29 exterior color options along with more than 31 upholstery options. This SUV also has a large 12.3-inch driver display which helps in improving the driving experience. It gets a USB Type-C charging port, Burmester-sourced 18 speakers with 3D surround system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
