According to the regulator’s statement on X, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday approved Mahindra and Mahindra’s proposal to acquire a 59% stake in commercial vehicle maker SML Isuzu for Rs. 555. However, Mahindra and Mahindra announced in April ‘’ The acquisition of 58.96 per cent stake in SML Isuzu for Rs 555 crore under SEBI rules.

SML Isuzu trucks and buses were established in 1983. According to Indian law, transactions exceeding a specific threshold are required to obtain CCI clearance to ensure they don’t harm competition in the market.
