Maharashtra Cabinet Announced 30% Salary Deduction For Government Employees

As the positive cases of coronavirus are increasing day by day. The Maharashtra cabinet has decided to cut 30% of the salary of all government employees.

Arijit Pawar, a Deputy Chief Minister and state finance minister, said that the decision has been taken after taking with various unions and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Pawar passed an official statement in which he announced that 30 percent of the salary of Government employees will be cut from April. The government employees including chief minister, MLAs, MLCs, all ministers and representatives of governing bodies.

Arijit Pawar said,

“The salaries of Class I and II will be cut by 50 per cent while that of Class III employees will be cut by 25 percent. There will be no cut in the salaries of remaining classes in the state bureaucracy,”

He also added, the decision has been taken after a consultation with numerous unions of employees.

He also said:

“I hope the public representatives will cooperate with the state finance department as a strong financial support is required for the state in this ongoing fight against coronavirus,”
