Japanese carmaker Toyota’s premium brand Lexus has launched an updated version of its popular SUV Lexus LX 500d in the Indian market. The company recently showcased this SUV during the India Mobility Global Expo held in Delhi. The company has made some new changes in it.
Lexus LX 500d Variants & Exterior Design
The Urban variant has a large grille with silver elements which gives the SUV an aggressive look. It also has sleek horizontally stacked LED headlights with LED DRLs and fog lamps on the lower part of the bumper. In profile, it has 22-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome strip on the doors. Which improves its side profile.
At the rear, it has a connected LED taillight setup, roof-mounted spoiler, rear wiper, Lexus badging on the tailgate and a black-out rear bumper. The company has introduced this SUV in many color options. Which includes Sonic Quartz, Sonic Titanium and Graphite Black.
Urban vs Overtrail – Key Differences
On the other hand, the Overtrail variant is more off-road focused, and has a similar grille design. But it is decorated with a grey theme. It also has a silver skid plate at the front. However, the main difference is that it has a grey colour finish and 18-inch alloy wheels. This variant is equipped with all-terrain tyres and front and rear differential lock. Its rear design is similar to the Urban variant. It is exclusively available in Moon Desert colour option.
Lexus LX 500d Interior & Comfort Features
The cabin of the LX 500d is decorated with a dual-tone theme. Tan and maroon shades have been given for the Urban variant and a special dark green colour theme for the Overtrail variant. However, the dashboard layout is the same in both variants. It has a 3-spoke black steering wheel, a free-standing touchscreen and another screen below to control other settings.
Below the screen are buttons for AC control and charging socket. This panel meets the center console. Which has a gear selector knob, two cup holders and a wireless phone charging pad. The center console can be extended to form a center armrest. Under which there is also a storage space. In which you can keep small items as per need.
Lexus LX 500d Engine, Performance & Mileage
The company has given a 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine in Lexus LX 500d. Which generates 309 PS of power and 700 Newton meter of torque. This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission gearbox. Which is equipped with an all wheel drive system. Its top speed is 210 km / h. The company claims that this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8 seconds.
Lexus LX 500d Safety Features – A Step Ahead
Safety System 3.0 & Advanced Driver Assistance: Lexus has added a feature called “Safety System 3.0”, which has made this SUV even safer now. This system is equipped with many features. This safety kit includes pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, safety exit assist, lane departure assist and auto high beam and adaptive high beam system.
Connected Car Features – Safety Connect, Remote Connect: Apart from this, the updated connected car feature includes Safety Connect, Remote Connect and Service Connect. Which improves the daily use experience of the SUV. Apart from this, Lexus has also updated the seat massager, which now has new bladder-based refresh seats. Which reduces the fatigue of long distance travel.
