Kris Kristofferson, a Texas cowboy singer, actor, and songwriter died at the of 88. Kristofferson died at his home in Mauii. 

The country singer is known for his famous songs like “ Sunday Mornin”, “Comin Down”, Help Me Make it Through the Night,”  “For the Good Times” and “Me and Bobby Mcgee.” Not only singing but he is also intelligent and the Rhode Scholar. Everyone knows him through his peculiar style of dressing sense, low-waist jeans, and funky T-Shirt and Cowboy hat and he had a whisky in one hand.

Folks will remember his performance in the vampire masterpiece Blade where he played the character of the main antagonist Blade’s godfather Abraham Whisper.

Kris Kristofferson a country music star, whose singing career starting point was not a smooth tiding, but it was a rough tiding, where he had to struggle to sell his music to others. He wrote his few songs while working as the pilot “ Help Me Make It Through the Night” and “Bobby Mcgee songs. He then met with Johnny Cash which was highly impressive memory for Cash.

After hearing the song “Sunday Mornin, Comin’Down” Cash immediately decided to record all of his songs and then in 1970 he won the Songwriter of the Year award at the Country Music Awards.

He then recorded one of the most famous songs of the year called “Me and Bobby Mcgee” which was recommended by the Monument Records owner Fred Foster, whose secretary’s name was Bobby Mcgee and he gained his lyrical inspiration from a song about a man and woman on the road together from the Felini Film “ La Strada.”

Other hits that included were “Why Me”, “Loving Her Was Easier” “Watch Closely Now”  Desperados Waiting for a Train” “A Song I’d Like to Sing” and  “ Jesus Was a Capricorn.”

In 1973 he married fellow songwriter Rita Coolidge and together they had a successful career in a duet career and won two Grammy awards.

Chris Kristofferson who first appear in a film called  Cisco Pike in 1972 with Gene Hackman and Blume in Love directed by Paul Mazursky. And in the 1974 film, “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”.

He also starred opposite Barabara Streisand in the 1976 “A Star is Born” He also played the notable character in the movie “Blade” in 1998.  For  “A Star is Born he played against Barbara Streisand, as a drunken rocker called John Norman Howard for which he earned a Golden Globe Award.

He was a Golden Gloves boxer and football player in college and received a Master’s Degree from the Merton College of Oxford University.  He joined the US Army as the Second Lieutenant attaining the rank of captain. He later becomes a pilot in the US Army.

The sorrow spread among his coteries, the world will remain attributed to his contribution to the country music industry.
