Russia-Ukraine War: Situations in Ukraine will soon get out of control if Russia did not stop its military action. It has already hit several areas of Ukraine along the western borders and around 8 people have reportedly died in the attack. As per Ukraine, 5 Russian planes and a helicopter have been shot down.

Any country imposing martial law will come under military control directly and all the civil functions and law will be suspended on temporary basis. It is imposed in a territory where civil forces are overwhelmed.

It is used to control the situations in a country in case of a conflict and to suppress political opposition and other protests during the conflict.

What Happens Under Martial Law?

When imposed, the country’s government has no power related to legislative and judicial. All control goes to military leaders and it allows imposition of curfews and suspension of citizens’ rights. It also nullifies freedom of speech and writ of habeas corpus.

It also prohibits certain activities and regulates the country’s emergency facilities. Civilians also get affected by the imposition of martial law. Their working conditions are regulated by military.

And if anyone defying martial law then they will have to face severe consequences because such actions are considered as a violation of military orders.
