Kirk Douglas, a son of Jewish-Russian immigrant, grew and worked hard to become one of Hollywood’s most loved and biggest stars on the globe.
Douglas has been one of the few Hollywood film age survivors. His machoism and tiny excentric positions he had represented during his six decades of career were well-known. He made only 90 films, but he won millions of hearts.
“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” said his son while announcing that his father left us in a post on social media.
“But to me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine, a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great-grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband.” said his son being in a very emotional state and sad at the same time.
“Kirk’s life was well-lived, and he leaves a legacy in films that will endure for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to aid the public and bring peace to the planet”. He praised Kirk’s accomplishments and said his work inspires many.
Lastly in the post, the son said “Dad I love you so much and I am so proud to be your son.”
