Kia Syros Premium SUV Revealed in Indian Market

Kia Motors India has revealed its new midsize SUV Ciros in the Indian market. The company has introduced the car with segment first premium features. This is the first car in the sub-4 meter segment in India, whose seats are all ventilated and electrically adjustable.

Apart from this, segment first features like 60:40 split recline rear seat and panoramic sunroof are also provided in the premium SUV. For safety, features like Level-2 Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) and 6 airbags have also been provided.

This is the company’s fifth SUV in the Indian market, which has been placed between Seltos and Sonet. The new Kia Ciros has been designed keeping in mind more premium customers compared to the Sonet. Cirros has been introduced in 6 variants. This includes HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O).

The company is calling it a mini carnival. Its booking will start from January 3 and delivery from February 2025. The company has not announced the prices yet. Prices for the Ciros could start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, there is no direct comparison car in India.

Kia India has also recently shared the teaser of the car on social media platform X. In these, some designing elements of the car have been shown by the company. The Syros will have a vertically stacked 3-pod LED headlight, with a long LED DRL on its side. The SUV’s design will also feature large window panels, a flat roof and a sharp kink in the window beltline along with the C-pillar.

According to the teaser sketch, it will get raised wheel arches, shoulder line and flush-fitting door handles. Its exterior design is completed by long roof rails, L-shaped tail light and upright tailgate. 16 inch crystal cut alloy wheels can be found in the car.

The cabin of the Syros can get a dual tone interior theme like the Sonet and Seltos. Below this, a new 10.25 inch digital driver display can be provided on the dashboard. However, according to the recently leaked photo, a new 2-spoke steering wheel will be provided.

Apart from this, there is infotainment touchscreen with 70+ connected car features, ventilated front seats, 4-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 7-speaker Bose audio system, wireless phone charging, in-built air purifier, 360-degree camera and a Features like voice operated sunroof can be provided.

The Syros gets a 12.3-inch dual display for infotainment and instrument cluster. This 30-inch display is paired with a 5-inch screen for the climate control system. It gets a new two-spoke steering wheel, Which also has a center console with a wireless charging pad. The dashboard also has a band of physical switches for HVAC control.

Other features of the Syros include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA updates for the infotainment system, in-car connectivity technology, all four ventilated seats, centre armrest, 60:40 split-folding function, powered driver seat, Features like 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS suite have been provided.

Two engine options have been given for performance in Kia Syros. It has a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 120hp power and 172Nm torque. For transmission, this engine will be available with the option of 6-speed manual gearbox (MT) and 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox (DCT).

At the same time, another 1.5 liter diesel engine will be available, which generates power of 116hp and torque of 250Nm. For transmission, it will be available with the option of 6-speed manual gearbox (MT) and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox (AT). The company has not disclosed the mileage of both the engines.
