Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday starrer ‘Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh’ was one of the most craze Bollywood releases of the year. The historical courtroom drama directed by Karan Singh Tyagi opened to good reviews on its first day and also did decent box office numbers, but the collections were much lower than expected.

The makers released ‘Kesari 2’ on Good Friday. Actually, people have a holiday on Good Friday. However, looking at the film’s collection, it does not seem that the film has got any benefit from the holiday. According to Sacnilk’s report, ‘Kesari 2’ has earned Rs 7.1 crore on the first day. Please note, these are preliminary figures. There may be some manipulation in these figures till tomorrow morning.
‘Kesari 2’ has earned Rs 7.1 crore. Whereas Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhava’ earned Rs 33.10 crore. Salman Khan’s ‘Sikander’ collected Rs 27.50 crore. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahadia’s film ‘Sky Force’ did a business of Rs 15.30 crores. Whereas Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s ‘Jaat’ did a business of Rs 9.62 crores.

‘Kesari Chapter 2’ is a courtroom drama film which shows the events after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. At the centre of the story is lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who took the mighty British Empire to court. He wanted to expose the truth that the massacre was not a mistake but a deliberate genocide.

The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The film is produced by Karan Johar. Akshay Kumar plays the role of lawyer C Shankaran Nair, who was known for his courage and truth. R Madhavan plays the role of British Crown lawyer Neville Mackinley, who stands opposite Akshay in court. Ananya Pandey plays the role of Dilreet Gill, one of the women studying law during that era. The chemistry and strong acting of the three actors have made the film more impressive.
