Kantara is one of the grand releases of 2022, which collected around 400 Crore INR at the box office in front of only a 16 Crore budget. A few days back, the film was also shortlisted for Oscar 2023.
After the global success of Kantara, the founder of Hombale films, Vijay Kirgandur recently made a big announcement about its prequel.
Yeah! We are going to watch Kantara’s prequel soon. As per the latest updates, the director, actor and writer Rishabh Shetty has already started working on it.
Vijay Kirgandur revealed the plot of Kantara 2. Here’s what he said.

In the recent interaction with the media, Vijay Kirgandur revealed the plot of Kantara 2. He said the movie will be based on the relationship between the troubled king, the god and the villagers.

As we saw in the first part, the god provides peace to the king in return for a promise to provide land and security to villagers. Kantara 2 will show us what happened when the next generations of king breaks that promise.
Vijay also made his statement on Rishabh Shetty. He said, “He plans to start shooting in June, as a portion of the shoot requires the rainy season, and our intention is to give the film a pan-India release in April or May next year.”
The Kantara producer also said they will also increase their cast members, which will include some big names.
Apart from this, the makers will raise the budget of Kantara 2 this time but keep the narration and cinematography similar to its first part. Check out some fans’ reactions here.
