American singer Justin Bieber arrived in Mumbai on Friday evening for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding sangeet. It is reported that the Ambani family had to spend a lot of money to bring the Peaches singer to India.

According to a report in Portuguese portal Leodioce, Justin is being paid a hefty amount for his performance. It is reported that his performance has cost Rs 83 crore or $10 million. This will be his second performance in India after the infamous 2017 concert when he was caught lip-syncing throughout his set.

Justin is currently expecting his first child with his wife Hailey Bieber.

Drake and Lana Del Rey also perform

According to reports, other international singers including Adele, Drake and Lana Del Rey might also perform at Radhika and Anant’s grand sangeet. Justin’s first concert in India was held in 2017. Though fans were excited for his first concert, they were left disappointed by his apparent lip-syncing. Justin was scheduled to perform in India again in 2022, but he cancelled that concert due to poor health.

Anant Ambani is the youngest son of India’s richest man, industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani. He is getting married to Radhika Merchant, daughter of businessman Viren Merchant, on July 12.

The sangeet will be held at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai’s BKC on Friday evening. It will be attended by family and their Bollywood friends. Recently, the wedding invitation went viral, giving a glimpse of the preparations for the high-profile event.

The wedding festivities have been planned very carefully, following traditional Hindu Vedic rituals. The main celebrations will begin on Friday, July 12 with the Shubh Vivaah or wedding ceremony and according to sources, guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by wearing traditional Indian attire.

The celebrations will continue with the Shubh Ashirwad on Saturday, July 13. The final event, the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14. For this grand occasion, guests have been asked to wear ‘Indian chic’.
