JKNIA to hold protest against Pak FM’s London visit

On Sunday President of Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance, ” Mahmood Kashmiri declared that his party will clench protests against the visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to London to address a summit on Kashmir.

Qureshi is supposed to participate in Pakistan-backed conference on Kashmir to take place in the British parliament and other venues on February 4 and 5.

In a video revealed on Sunday, the JKNIA leader stated that JKNIA will hold protest against Pakistan over its occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

The leader moved on to include that in regions of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan, individuals are not given their freedom and rights as Islamabad continues to manipulate their resources.

The JKNIA leader said, “Students are not allowed to read books on Jammu and Kashmir as such books are confiscated. Similarly, in Gilgit Baltistan, people are not allowed to raise their voices against the Federal government of Pakistan. Court cases and sedition charges are filed against those raise their voices against the state,”

“This is a fraud by the Pakistan government on our people. We have decided to protest against this.”

“We want to inform the Pakistan government to remove its control from our people and our land. This protest from our side will continue until Pakistan decontrols Jammu and Kashmir,” Kashmiri added.

As per latest breaking news, Qureshi will participate in the UK House of Commons’ debate, set up to be held on February 4, and will also visit an exhibition on Kashmir in Park Lane on Tuesday, February 5.

Qureshi had in his words stated several occasions that Kashmir has been the foundation of Pakistan’s foreign policy and the viewpoint of the Pakistan government is very distinct over the issue.
