Jeff Bezos’s blue origin an American aerospace and defense company also in the race of building space crafts and rockets for future space exploration.

Recently NASA gave the nod to Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin company to build the lunar lander for them. The name of lunar landers is Blue Moon. After a lot of hustle Blue Origin received a $ 3.4 billion contract on Friday from NASA.

It’ll Blue Moon lunar landers will be used to land the astronauts on the surface of Lunar in 2029 following a pair of the crew landed by Elon Space X Starship.

Blue Origin collaborated with five team partners: Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Draper, Astrobotic Technology, and Honeybee Robotics.

NASA is all ready for its upcoming Artemis II mission which will be launched in 2024 with its four crew members. It is following the 1960s and 1970s lunar mission Apollo and last year it send its lunar capsule Orion into the moon orbit before returning home.

NASA Aretmis II mission will not land its crew member on the moon they’ll just fly into orbit and return to the Earth.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said, “The agency wants different landing options as it seeks a return to the moon more than a half-century after the end of the Apollo moonshots.”

Two years ago Blue Origin sued after NASA awarded Space X the contract for the first human flight. A federal judge upheld the space agency decision. Blue Origin Vice President John Couluris said “ We have a lot to do before we successfully land and return astronauts”.

It will practice the landing on the moon before taking the crew to the moon. Two Americans will board the Space X starship to land on the moon no earlier than late 2025.

Blue Moon looks like a capsule with stands atop a tall compartment with legs. It stands 52 feet on the moon. Blue Origins uses its New Glenn rocket which is currently under development and is reusable and it’ll be launched from Cape Canaveral.
