JEE Advanced Exam Date Announced Exam Will be Held on 18th in Two Shifts

Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has released the date for JEE Advanced 2025 today. According to the official website, JEE Advanced will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The length of time of the exam will be three hours. It will comprise of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). It will be obligatory for the candidates to give both the papers.

This time the Joint Admission Board (JAB) had expanded the attempt numbers for JEE Advanced from two to three. In any case, a few weeks after the announcement, on November 19, JAB withdrew the decision. Presently, like before, candidates will get as it were two chances.

In the meeting of JAB members on November 15, it was decided that the criteria made in 2013 will be followed. The decision of three attempts was cancelled in the JAB meeting. After the new decision, even the candidates who pass 12th in 2023 will not be eligible for this. However, the candidates whose results have been released after 21 September 2023 will be eligible for this.

  • Such candidates who passed 12th in 2023 and after qualifying the Mains, could not get admission in IIT due to low rank in Advanced. They will now be out of it.
  • Experts are also surprised at the delay in changing the final decision regarding the attempt by IIT. Data shows that there are 1500 students who were studying in NIT and had enrolled for JEE Main.
  • In the notification issued earlier, it was also said that till now the top 2.5 lakh students who qualified JEE Mains were eligible for JEE Advanced. But this time this number can be increased.
  • According to the guidelines, only students born on or after October 1, 2000 can appear for JEE Advanced this time. However, SC, ST and PwD candidates have been given a relaxation of 5 years in the age limit.
  • It has also been said in the notification that till now the top 2.5 lakh students who qualified JEE Mains were eligible for JEE Advanced. But this time this number can be increased.
