Iran president Ebrahim Raisi a hardliner died in a helicopter crash on Sunday. He is returning from Azerbaijan with his team of officials and it crashed in the forest in a mountainous region of the northwestern region of Iran.
The rescue team reached the crash site and they found no sign of life in the helicopter. The Iranian branch of the Red Crescent Humanitarian network said on Monday that they found the burned wreckage only the tail found intact in the fog-dense areas of the mountain valley of Dizmar forest near the border of Azerbaijan.

Raisi who had been returning from the Azerbaijan border, where he met with President Ilham Aliyev. Both of the higher authorities of the two countries cut the ribbon of the major dam along the Aras river border.
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahianwas also presumed dead, with other officials who were onboard with the President of Iran.

Ebrahim Raisi 63 was a conservative cleric, who was educated in the seminary city of Qom. He is notably known as “The Butcher” known for the suppression and oppression of human rights protests, freedom of speech protests, and democracy-demanding people. He arrested and brutally tortured those people who raised their voices against the depleting democracy and human rights violations.
In 1988 his one brutal action gave him the name “The Butcher” he oppressively killed political prisoners aftermath of the bloody Iran-Iraq war. He is famously known for exercising his power to suppress his opponents who were demanding human rights, freedom of speech, and women's rights movements.
As judiciary chief, he vehemently suppressed and executed the protesters who were protesting against the regime in 2019-2020.
During his tenure as President, he opposes the Women, Life Freedom movement following the death of 22-year-old girl Mahsa Amini who was arrested on the notion of not covering her head properly by the police. Thousands of women turned onto the roads and burned their scarves, but he brutally suppressed the Iranian women and arrested more than 10,000 women and 500 people died in a massive protest.
United Nations of Human Rights investigated the death matter of Mahsa Amini and they were found guilty of the Iran govt by subjugating the 22-year-old girl to torture and the women who protested against it, which is a complete violation of human rights.

Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi was a potential leader of Iran after the retirement or death of Ayatollah Khamenei. He led the Iran govt. by enforcing the brutal suppression of any human rights protests. He was looking as a prominent candidate for leading Iran in the future after the Ayatollah Khamenei.
However many of his opponents did not consider him as a supreme leader of Iran. Even his victory in the 2021 election itself is dubious because, during the time of his election, most of the opponents were disqualified. Most of the people including minority communities, and women in minorities did not participate in the voting.
After Raisi's death now Khamenei’s son Mojtabawill be the frontrunner to succeed his father.
