We couldn’t have asked for more as it was a thriller match last night on Sunday. MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 79 went in vain as Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beaten Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by four runs in Mohali. In a nerve wrecking encounter, Dhoni was well supported by opener Ambati Raydu (49) in the middle overs.
MS Dhoni was unstoppable as he smashed five sixes and six fours in his 79 off 44. Dhoni didn’t seen back after the fall of Raydu’s wicket. Dhoni forced the spectators towards a nail-biter and showed his stellar show, reliving the very old saying- “Old is Gold.”
With terrible pain in his back, he still managed to make a war and almost on his own to emerge out the victorious one, but it was the opposite one. Andrew Tye went 2/47 for Punjab, while the Punjab Skipper – Ashwin had 1/32 in his 4 overs.
Earlier it was a splendid encounter as we saw the return of Universe Boss Chris Gayle in his unique style hitting 63 off 33 balls. Yuvraj Singh, on the other hand, played some amazing shots before he got out. Chennai bowlers Fought back in the second half of the first innings by restricting the opponent KXIP to 197, all thanks to Imran Tahir who took back to back wickets and kept their side in a lead. Both KL Rahul and Gayle had a 96-run first wicket partnership. Mayank Agarwal (30) and Karun Nair (29) played their respective knocks which were worth in the end of the match. Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets for 33 runs while Harbhajan Singh, Shane Watson, and Dwayne Bravo shared one wicket each.
