After the iPhone 17 Air, if there is another iPhone that is raising similar expectations, it is not the 2025 Apple flagship, but the iPhone SE 4. Apple fans have been waiting for a long time for the tech giant to update the iPhone SE, but it has taken a while. However, there have been so many rumours and leaks in the meantime that the curiosity for the upcoming iPhone SE 4 has only increased.
Especially the kind of upgrades that are rumoured include changes to FaceID (finally!), OLED panel, iPhone 14-like design, and the fact that it is the most affordable iPhone to feature Apple intelligence.
iPhone SE 4 Features, Design, Specs (Expected)
- The upcoming iPhone SE will be the first update to Apple’s budget smartphone line since 2022. Industry insiders and multiple leaks indicate that the new model will feature significant design changes, most notably adopting the iPhone 14’s form factor with Face ID authentication, replacing the traditional home button and Touch ID system found in previous generations.
- Recent design renders from case maker Spigen also suggest that the device will feature thin bezels and a larger 6.1-inch display, a significant increase over the 4.7-inch screen of its predecessor.
- The device is expected to retain its single rear camera configuration, although reports suggest it may feature a 48-megapixel sensor.
- However, the minimal bulge of the camera module indicates that the sensor size may remain modest, resulting in different image quality compared to Apple’s premium models.
- The new iPhone SE will reportedly feature Apple’s latest A18 chip, which is also the processor present in the iPhone 16 series. The device will likely support Apple Intelligence features and come in expanded colour options beyond the traditional black, white, and red options.
iPhone SE 4: Launch date
Mark Gurman claims that the iPhone SE 4 is coming next week. The inventory of the iPhone SE 3 in the US has run out, which is what mostly happens when the next-generation iPhone arrives. The laptop also claims that the iPhone SE 4 will be accompanied by PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds. As per rumours, the launch date is February 11.
The brand may also launch an updated iPad Air with the M4 chipset and a low-end iPad soon.
iPhone SE 4: Expected price in India
The price remains a key part of the iPhone SE 4’s appeal. Some reports have suggested that the iPhone SE 4 will be priced starting at $499 or around Rs 44,000. This price is similar to the launch price of the iPhone SE 3 in India, which was priced at Rs 43,900. However, the smartphone’s price later increased to Rs 49,900 due to a tax hike.
