Apple announced last week that it will launch a new product on February 19, i.e. today, and the company is believed to be preparing to launch the iPhone SE 4 as a successor to its 2022 model. Although the company has not yet announced any plans for a new smartphone, recent reports suggest that Apple’s next affordable iPhone will come with several hardware upgrades, including a larger display, a faster Apple chip, and support for Face ID. It is also expected to offer support for Apple intelligence features.
iPhone SE 4 Design:
- The transparent TPU case available on Alibaba shows that the iPhone SE 4 will have a horizontal cut-out for the single assembled camera and flash LED. It looks similar to the camera flag of the SE (2022).
- According to these case renders, a notch is visible on the front of the iPhone SE 4. It looks like the Moto borders will be removed. This boat-shaped notch may house the selfie camera and Face ID sensor.
- The bezels around it also show the first-generation chips.
- Another big reveal is the magnetic markers seen on the case. This could potentially be justified as there are no magnets inside the phone for MagSafe support. The SE 3 also did not have built-in MagSafe compatibility.
- According to tipster Majin Boo, the new iPhone is named “iPhone 16e” on the record box and its front looks like the iPhone 16 and not like the iPhone 14. It also does not have camera controls or a navigation island.
iPhone 16E/SE 4: Price, specifications (expected)
The iPhone SE 4 could be priced at $499 (around ₹44,000). The SE 3 was launched in India at a starting price of ₹43,900.
Key offerings could include Apple A18 SoC, Apple support, 6.06-inch Super Dual OLED screen, 3,279mAh battery, action button, IP68 dust and water resistance, 48MP Solona camera, and a 12MP front camera.
iPhone 16E or iPhone SE 4?
Until a few months ago, it was believed that Apple’s next affordable smartphone could come as the iPhone SE 4. However, recent reports suggest that the company may introduce the device as the iPhone 16E, as the handset shares several specifications with the iPhone 16, such as the advanced A18 chip and support for Apple intelligence, as well as the action button.
