A new smartphone of tech company Apple, iPhone 16e, has arrived in the Indian market, which is the cheapest model of the iPhone 16 series. The company has launched it in the market with three storage options – 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Its starting price is Rs 58,400.
The smartphone has a Bionic A18 chipset from the iPhone 16. Apart from this, the phone will also get a 6.1-inch XDR display and a battery with 26 hours of backup. Apple’s first in-house modem ‘Apple C1’ has been given in the iPhone 16e.

The most special thing in this phone is its Apple C1 modem, which has not been given in any iPhone till now. Apple’s iPhones till now have Qualcomm 5G AI processor generation 2. The company is calling it the most power efficient modem ever, meaning it will also provide longer battery life.
iPhone 16e: Design
The design of the iPhone 16e is similar to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series, but some changes have been made to it. The phone has been given Apple’s signature flat-edge design, Which gives it a premium and modern look. Its frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum, which makes it feel light and strong in the hand. It weighs 167 grams and is 7mm thin.
From the rear, it looks like Apple’s cheaper iPhone, but there is a notch on the top of the phone in the front, which makes it look like the iPhone 14. Only two color options black and white are available with the phone.
An action button is given on the side of the phone like the iPhone 15 series and 16 series. You can set any command with this action button, For example, you can use it to open the camera or to turn on-off the flash light. A single camera is provided on its back panel. However, the camera control and dynamic island given in the iPhone 16 series will not be available in it.

However, these features will be rolled out in India in April. With the help of Apple intelligence, Genmoji feature will be available, which will allow you to create emojis of your choice. For example, if you type “elephant” and “chef”, you will get an emoji of an elephant wearing a chef’s hat.
Additionally, the Notes app will have Chat GPT integration, allowing you to use AI to write, research, and improve your text. This means you will not even need to download the Chat GPT app. The visual intelligence feature will be linked to the action button. By pressing it, you will point the camera at anything and the AI will give information immediately.
Display
The iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. You will get great visual quality in this, but it only works at 60Hz refresh rate, which is very low according to its price. A refresh rate of at least 90Hz could have been given here. Its typical brightness is 800 nits and peak brightness is 1200 nits. Ceramic shield protection has been provided for the security of the display.
Camera
For photography, a 48MP fusion single lens has been provided on the back panel of the device. The special thing is that this is a 2 in 1 camera. That means you can use it as two lenses. With this single lens, you can click high resolution pictures and you can also take photos with 2X optical zoom.
At the same time, there is a 12MP camera on the front of the phone for selfie and video calling. This is of the same quality as the camera found in the iPhone 16 series smartphones. Another special thing is that it also has Face ID.

Apple has not given exact information about the battery capacity, but the company claims that the phone supports up to 26 hours of video playback and up to 90 hours of audio playback.
