Apple has confirmed that its upcoming iOS 16.3 update, set to be released next week, will bring a variety of fixes and enhancements for iPhone users, including a fix for the horizontal lines issue that has been appearing on the screen of iPhone 14 Pro Max models.

The update will also offer a brand new iOS 16 wallpaper, requiring iOS 16.3 to be installed. Before releasing it to the general public, Apple has already released the iOS 16.3 Release Candidate to developers and beta testers, so they can test out the new features and improvements. At the outset, the iOS 16.3 update will address an issue in which some iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max models show horizontal lines shortly after being awakened.

Additionally, it will allow for the utilization of physical security keys for safeguarding Apple IDs, meaning that users can now set up a physical hardware device as the second layer of two-factor authentication for their accounts.

An update is expected to address the Freeform issue where certain sketches made with an Apple Pencil or finger may not be visible on shared boards.

It will also fix the Home Lock Screen widget not displaying the Home app’s status correctly.

Furthermore, the update will include support for the newly-released HomePod 2nd Generation, a Unity Black wallpaper to celebrate Black History Month, and a tutorial to help users learn how to use the Handoff features that are compatible with the iPhone and HomePod.
