Are digital weddings the next big thing? A couple from Pune is giving us all the hints after their wedding became Blockchain Official! Shocked? We got too when we heard about Shruti Nair and Anil Narasipuram. Both exchanged vows in presence of Ethereum that certified their marriage as NFT wedding.

First time in India, anyone has gone so far to make their big day extra special. Both Shruti and Anil sat in front of their laptops and waited for their digital priest named Anoop Pakki. It then created an NFT of the bride’s wedding ring and minted the image on OpenSea ( a NFT platform).

The image was embedded with their wedding vows that read “ We won’t make any big promises, but we will do everything we can t make this work.” It took around 15 minutes to get the process done and authorized by the priest.

Both then read the vows after which the bride get the NFT image in her crypto wallet. Digital priest performed the last ritual by saying “And now by the power vested in me by Ethereum, it is my honor and delight to declare you married.”
Now Shruti and Anil are officially married! Their strange blockchain wedding is first in the history of India but that’s not the only one in the world.
Asia’s First Virtual Reception Happens On Metaverse

A newlywed from Tamil Nadu planned their reception out of the universe. No, not in space but in Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse. Dinesh and Janaganandhini are throwing a grand wedding reception to their guest in a virtual venue.
The couple’s avatar will welcome the guest in metaverse on 6th February. It will also have the touch of NFT as they are launching an NFT collection of their wedding attire. The venue will also have Harry Potter and cyberpunk theme background.

Their NFT collection has already gone official at Beyondlife.Club and GuardianLink.io and 50 copies are already sold out. They are the first couple in Asia to plan a digital reception. According to Insider, a Florida-based couple named Dave and Traci is the world’s first couple to host a digital wedding.
