India vs Bangladesh: The BCCI on Tuesday informed that Gwalior will host the first T20 International between India and Bangladesh on October 6 instead of Dharamsala, where renovation work is being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.
The BCCI informed in a media release that “the first T20I match between India and Bangladesh, earlier scheduled to be held at Dharamsala on October 6, 2024, will now be held at Gwalior due to renovation and refurbishment work being carried out in the dressing rooms by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.”
The match in Gwalior will be held at a new stadium – the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. It will be the first match to be played in the city after the historic India vs South Africa ODI in 2010, in which Sachin Tendulkar scored his double century.
Indian cricket schedule for 2024-25 domestic season
Also, the venues for the first two T20Is between India and England in January 2025 have been swapped. The first T20I (January 22), which was earlier scheduled to take place in Chennai, will now be played in Kolkata. Chennai will host the second T20I on January 25.
“The change in venue was necessitated after the Kolkata Police made a request to the Cricket Association of Bengal regarding commitments and obligations ahead of Republic Day,” the BCCI said.
