India’s startup ecosystem is growing day by day and grabbing the world’s attention. Recently, the country has made to the list of World’s 40 Biggest Startup Hubs in Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2022. The report is prepared by the Startup Genome and comprises of 3 Indian cities in the list.
Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai have now joined Silicon Valley to prove their massive growth in the past few years.
Ranks of Indian Cities in World’s 40 Biggest Start-up Hubs List
1. Bengaluru
The innovation cluster and tech hub of India is improving it’s position in the list every year. It is now 22nd in the Global Ecosystem Report 2022, one level up from the previous result. In 2020, Bengaluru was ranked at 26th position in the list.
The city has improved in areas like funding, knowledge and has been serving as the R&D centres for tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft. There are more than 400 such centres in the Bengaluru.
2. Delhi
Delhi, the capital of India, is also the startup capital of India with more than 1500 startups. It has improved it’s ranking significantly in the list of world’s biggest startup. Earlier, it was ranked at 37th number. It’s current ranking in the report is 26th.

3. Mumbai
Known as the film City of India, Mumbai is also one of the growing startup hubs in India and now in the world too. The city has succeeded in maintaining its 36th position once again.

All the cities in the report are judged at 6 key factors that are performance, funding, market reach, talent and experience connectedness, and knowledge. Here are the results for this year.

Washington DC, Tokyo, San Diego, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Waterloo, Singapore, Chicago, and Sydney are the other 10 in the list.
The report further says that India is growing in terms of ecosystem value whereas China is slowing down in terms of early-stage funding. North America is as usual, dominating the list and and Asia is second dominating region.
