IND vs SA T20 Series 2025: After losing the Test series, Team India made a strong comeback in the ODIs. The Indian team won the ODI series 2-1. Now it’s time for exciting T20 cricket. The five-match T20 series begins on December 9th.
Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India has performed exceptionally well in the shortest format of cricket this year. The team also performed well on the Australia tour. Surya and company will look to maintain this momentum against the Proteas. However, the timing of the T20I matches has changed slightly.
Suryakumar Yadav is the captain of the Indian team for the T20I series
The squads for both teams for the T20 series were already announced. Suryakumar Yadav is captaining the Indian team, while Aiden Markram is captaining the African team. Both teams have several star players who can change the course of a match in just a few balls and are renowned masters of T20 cricket.
The first T20 match will be played at the Cuttack ground. The first T20 match between India and South Africa will be played on December 9 at the Cuttack Ground. The second T20 match will be played on December 11 at New Chandigarh, and the third match on December 14 at Dharamsala. The fourth match will be played on December 17 at Lucknow, and the final match of the series will be played on December 19 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. All matches will start at 7:00 PM IST, with the toss taking place half an hour before start.

The Indian team for the T20 series includes players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the bowling attack. Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh have been included in the team to support him. The spin department includes players like Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Varun Chakravarthy.
The T20 matches between India and South Africa will be played at 7:00 PM IST
The first T20 match between India and South Africa will be played on Tuesday at the Cuttack Ground. The second T20 match of the series will be played in New Chandigarh on December 11, while the third will be played in Dharamsala on December 14. The fourth T20 match will be played in Lucknow on the 17th, and the fifth and final T20 match will be played in Ahmedabad on December 19. All matches will start at 7:00 PM. The toss will take place half an hour before the match, i.e., at 6:30 PM.
Gill returns after injury, Bumrah returns after break
Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah will return to action in the T20 series. Gill was ruled out of the ODI series due to injury, while Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the ODI series. Hardik Pandya will also be seen performing in the T20Is.
