IND vs ENG: After losing the five-match Test series 3-1 to Australia, the Indian cricket team will now play a 5-match T20 series against England on its home. England has announced its team led by Jos Buttler, while the Indian team for the T20 series has not been announced yet. However, due to poor performance, many Indian players involved in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy do not seem to make it to the T20 series against England.
IND vs ENG T20 team ready
Abhishek Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, and Hardik Pandya are certain to be selected in the T20 series against England. Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi can be selected as spin all-rounders. Arshdeep, Mayank Yadav, and Harshit Rana can be included in the team as fast bowlers. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who won hearts with his attractive batting and bowling in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, is also likely to get a chance. The reins of the Indian T20 team will once again be in the hands of Surya Kumar Yadav.
Trust in young talent
Apart from Shubman Gill, KL Rahul’s performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has not been as expected. In such a situation, the place of both the players in the T20 series against England does not seem to be there. Abhimanyu Easwaran, wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Devdutt Padikkal, Rishabh Pant, who were part of the Indian team on the Australia tour, are also not expected to get a place in the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal can get a place in the team as the second opener. Fast bowler Vijaykumar Vaishakh, all-rounder Ramandeep Singh, and wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma, who were part of the Indian T20 team on the South Africa tour last year, can also be dropped.
England’s India tour schedule
The England Cricket Board has announced the upcoming Champions Trophy and India tour team. The England team will play a series of five T20 and three ODI matches against the host team on Indian soil. The first match of the T20 series between India and England will be played on January 22 at Eden Gardens, the second match on January 25 in Chennai, the third match on January 28 in Rajkot, the fourth match on January 31 in Pune, the fifth match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. All these matches will be played from 7 pm Indian time. After this, the England team will play a series of three ODI matches against India in February.
