In the lead-up to the launch of the Hyundai Exter On July 10, the company has been drip-feeding new details about the upcoming Tata Punch rival. Hyundai has now officially revealed the rear design of the Exter.

Hyundai Exter rear design revealed
A thick black trim that spans the tailgate and connects the squarish LED taillamps at either end is the Exter’s rear design’s most distinctive feature. The dark differentiating trim gets a finished wrap-up with the Hyundai logo situated in the middle. Additionally, like the front LED daytime running lights, the taillamps feature an “H” lighting signature.
Hyundai Exter powertrain options
The Exter will be offered with a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that has 83 horsepower and 114 nm of peak torque and is built on the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios and the Aura. There will be a choice of a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The Exter will also be offered in CNG-spec with a manual 5-speed transmission.

Hyundai Exter bookings and rivals
Our dealer sources tell us that deliveries are anticipated to begin by the end of July, and bookings for the Exter are already underway for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Exter will compete with the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, and Maruti Ignis when it goes on sale.
