At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, HTC has debuted their new Vive XR Elite Extended Reality headset. This all-in-one headset is lightweight, and can convert into a pair of glasses for augmented, virtual, and mixed reality experiences. It offers an impressive 3,840×1,920 combined resolution with a 110-degree field of view and 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it has four wide FOV tracking cameras, an RGB camera, and a depth sensor.

HTC’s Vive XR Elite is the successor to the Vive Flow, the company’s lightweight virtual reality glasses that debuted in 2021.

The HTC Vive XR Elite is listed at a price of $1,099 (approximately Rs. 90,900) and can be pre-ordered from the Vive website. Those who place their pre-order for the headset before the 15th of February will receive five well-liked XR/VR titles at no cost. The headset is expected to be available for purchase in early March, 2023, and pre-order shipments will begin then.

The specs of the HTC Vive XR Elite

The HTC Vive XR Elite headset has a 3,840×1,920-pixel combined resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate and 110-degree field of view. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 SoC and has 12GB of RAM. Each eye has a resolution of 1,920×1,920 pixels.

The HTC Vive XR Elite has been equipped with four tracking cameras, a 16-megapixel RGB camera, 128GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi 6 + 6E 1, Bluetooth 5.2 + BLE, a USB 3.2 Gen-1 Type-C peripheral port, and a USB 3.2 Gen-1 Type-C power port. In addition, it has a depth sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

The HTC Vive XR Elite includes a 26.6Wh Battery Cradle that can be removed and hot-swapped with another battery cradle that is available as an accessory. The battery cradle can provide up to 2 hours of continuous power, HTC claims. It also comes with two controllers (L and R), which have up to 15 hours of battery life and are chargeable via USB Type-C port.
