Honor has unveiled its latest flip phone, the Honor Magic V Flip2, during an event in China. The device features a 6.82-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz. It offers a maximum brightness of up to 5000 nits and features such as AI Super Dynamic Display and Dolby Vision.
The outer screen is 4 inches and also uses LTPO OLED technology, supporting refresh rates between 0.1 to 120Hz. Its brightness can reach up to 3600 nits. The cover screen features interactive elements such as animated pets that respond to air gestures, increasing user interaction.
Honor Magic V Flip2 Cover Screen and User Interaction
The phone features a 4-inch 0.1-120Hz LTPO OLED outer screen with a thin outer screen border. It supports a maximum brightness of up to 3600 nits and 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The cover screen of the Honor Magic V Flip2 has new interactive features, including personalized themes and nine animated pets that respond to air gestures. Even more interaction with these digital pets is possible by tapping the screen. The cover screen has several AI-powered features, such as one-click smart reply, AI interpreter, and magic capsule.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor powers the phone, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It also has RF Enhancement Chip C1+ and Energy Efficient Enhancement Chip E2. It runs on Android 15 based MagicOS 9.0.1.
Honor Magic V Flip2 Camera
The phone has a 200MP main camera with EIS+OIS support. There is also a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP front camera. The camera system integrates the AI HONOR Image Engine, which includes 30x telephoto shooting through AI Super Zoom and multiple edit features such as AI Passers-by Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Upscale.
Honor Magic V Flip2 Design and Durability
HONOR continues its collaboration with fashion designer Professor Jimmy Choo Yeung Keat OBE for the design of the Honor Magic V Flip2. This limited edition model is inspired by the crystal look, while the other colour options – purple, white, and grey – are also based on his design philosophy. The phone can be used with a leather sling or pearl strap, making it look like a fashion accessory.
For durability, the device features a 50μm UTG coating and an aerospace-grade titanium alloy hinge, allowing the screen inside to be almost flat when the phone is opened. The phone comes with IP58 and IP59 water and dust resistance ratings and is SGS Premium certified for drop protection. It packs a 5500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which HONOR says is a long-lasting battery for a flip phone. It has 80W super-fast charging support. Also, there is 50W wireless charging support.
