Hero MotoCorp has launched the new updated range of Hero Splendor Review in the Indian market. The OBD-2B emission norms have been updated for the engine of the company’s top selling bike. Apart from this, no changes have been made in the design, hardware and features of the bike. The company claims that this bike runs 73 kilometers in one liter of petrol.
Hero Splendor Plus Price in India
Hero has kept the starting ex-showroom price of the updated bike at Rs 78,926. The company has updated only five variants of the bike. The top variant of the Xtec Disc is priced at Rs 86,051. The bike has now become costlier by Rs 1,750 than before.
However, non-OBD2B variants are also listed on Hero’s website, but these will be discontinued soon. Bike’s competition in India The new Splendor Plus competes with the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina and TVS Radian.
Key Updates in Hero Splendor Plus
The OBD-2B update means that the bike will now monitor the pollution level of its engine more accurately. However, apart from this update, no major mechanical changes have been made in the bike. The Hero Splendor Plus has the same 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as before. This engine produces 8hp of power and 8.05Nm of torque. It comes with a 4-speed gearbox. The same engine is also used in Hero Passion Plus and HF Deluxe models.
Hero Splendor Plus Design and Features
There have been minor changes in its design. It has new body panels, new graphics, new design of rear grab rails, new luggage rack for keeping luggage at the back. However, these changes may vary according to the variant. It has a fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps and DRLS, Bluetooth connectivity, which helps in getting details of the bike from the mobile. Front disc brake is also provided in some variants.
Hero Splendor Plus Engine Performance
Hero Splendor Plus is one of the most fuel skilled bikes. This motorcycle is equipped with an air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, OHC engine. The engine produces 5.9 kW of electricity at 8,000 rpm in Splendor Plus and torque of 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This motorcycle comes with a programmed fuel injection system.
Hero Splendor Plus can cover a distance of about 70 km in a liter of petrol. The fuel tank of this bike is 9.8 liters, so once the tank is filled, it can be easily operated up to 686 km. This bike is very popular due to its low price and good mileage.
