A video of Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf became a web sensation via virtual entertainment on Tuesday, where the cricketer is seen nearly getting into a battle with a couple of fans in the USA. Days after Pakistan’s heartbreaking group stage exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup, in which they lost to co-hosts the USA and archrivals India, the video surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Haris Rauf was seen walking with his wife in the 54-second video that went viral on social media before a few fans asked for a selfie. Even though the video obscured the cricketer’s exact words, Haris appeared to have lost his composure and charged toward the fans. His wife tried to stop him, but Haris took off his slippers and ran toward the fans. If he hadn’t been stopped by one of them, he might have started a fight.

Fan was Upset By Haris’ Behaviour

“Ek picture maangi hai bas (All I wanted was one picture with you)” could be heard from one of the fans, clearly upset.

Haris Rauf, who was held by one of the fans in a bid to keep away from him from getting into a battle, was then heard saying: ” Indian hoga yeh (He should be an Indian),” by the fan answered, “I’m from Pakistan.”

Pakistan’s Performance In World Cup

Pakistan had a forgettable 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. In their first Group A match, which the home team won in New York via Super Over, they were stunned by the USA. In the match against India, Pakistan had a chance to make a comeback in the tournament, but they lost in the chase for 119, even though they were in control for most of the game.

While the Babar Azam-drove side retaliated in the long run to guarantee wins against Canada and Ireland in their leftover gathering matches, the waste of time experience between the USA and Paul Stirling’s men affirmed their exit. This was the third time Pakistan experienced a gathering stage exit in T20 World Cups, having finished as sprinters up in the past version in 2022.
