Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gully Boy’ has garnered all the attention of the audiences as the film collected Rs. 18.70 crore on its opening day.
Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his Twitter handle shared the Day 1 collection of ‘Gully Boy’. He wrote, “#GullyBoy takes a massive start… #ValentineDay – not an official holiday – has given a big boost… Metros are rocking, contribute to superb total… Thu ₹ 18.70 cr [3350 screens]. India biz.”

As per Adarsh, ‘Gully Boy’ is expected to witness new records only.
Films with the biggest opening of 2019 include ‘Uri’, ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Thackeray’, Gully Boy beat them all. As per the Indian Box Office, the film was bigger than Ranveer’s last two releases—‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’.
With the box office collection of ‘Gully Boy’, Ranveer has given his second biggest opening ever, while this is Alia’s highest first day earning of the movie.
The film got Valentine’s Day advantage, especially in metropolitan cities, While it was not a holiday yesterday, the film did exceptionally well in Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore.
With great reviews of ‘Gully Boy’, both from film critics and audiences. It was first premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival. Also, many of the international publications gave the film a good review.
‘Gully Boy’ is an encouraging story, inspired by the lives of Mumbai street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy.
The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar and released on 14 February, Valentine’s Day.
The film is about the underground rap movement in India and all the songs of the film have become immensely popular.
Other than this, Ranveer and Alia will also be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming multi-starrer directorial ‘Takht’. The film includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles.
