Google Pixel 9a is expected to launch by the end of this month, which is much earlier than its usual announcement, as the annual I/O developer conference usually takes place in April. The upcoming device has already received certifications such as FCC, IMDA, EMVCo, which indicate its imminent launch. At the same time, now the new FCC filing of the Pixel 9a has revealed that it will come with a flagship feature, which will be included in the Pixel A-series for the first time.
Flagship feature can be found in the Google Pixel 9a
- According to the FCC certification, the Pixel 9a is listed with model numbers GTF7P, G3Y12 and GXQ96.
- An image with the GTF7P model number in the database shows that it will support satellite feature.
- The note mentions that this function has to be turned off via airplane mode during flights.
- This indicates that the Pixel 9a will feature satellite connectivity.
- This will not only be the first device in the Pixel A-series but also the first mid-range Android to support this feature.
- Google first introduced the Satellite SOS feature in the Pixel 9 series launched last year. The feature will be available for free for the first two years after activating the device.
- This feature is very useful in emergencies, as it allows connecting to emergency services or contacts even when there is no WiFi and cellular network.
- Apple first introduced Emergency SOS via satellite in the iPhone 14 series smartphones. The new iPhone 16e also supports this feature.
Google Pixel 9a launch date (expected)
According to reports, the Google Pixel 9a is expected to launch on March 19 and will go on sale starting March 26. The company has not confirmed the launch date of the Pixel 9a.
Google Pixel 9a price expectations
The Google Pixel 9a is expected to be priced at €549 (Rs. 50,200) and €609 (Rs. 55,700) for the 128GB and 256GB models, respectively. In the US, the phone is expected to be priced at $499 (Rs. 43,400). Talking about the Indian price, the Pixel 9a could be priced at Rs 52,999.
