The teaser of the actor’s upcoming series ‘IC814: The Kandahar Hijack’ has been released. He is accompanied by a team of brilliant actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the teaser of this web series is full of suspense and thrill. In this teaser of about 1 minute, your soul will tremble after seeing the incident of Kandahar hijack in 1999.
Original story of IC814
It was the year 1999 when Indian Airlines plane IC 814 was going from Kathmandu to New Delhi. It was hijacked and the terrorists took it from Kathmandu to Amritsar and Lahore and then to Kandahar in Afghanistan. The terrorists had put a condition of release of 3 terrorists including Maulana Masood Azhar in exchange for the safe release of 188 passengers.
After being released, the names of these three have been coming up in the biggest terrorist incidents. These include the 2001 Parliament attack in India, the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, the 2016 Pathankot attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack. These three are also accused in the kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl in 2002.
This was the longest hijacking in aviation history. Passengers were trapped inside a plane for 7 days. Now Netflix India is bringing a series on this named IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The series will be released on August 29.
What is shown in the teaser of IC814?
The teaser begins with some Indian passengers getting ready to take off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Vijay Verma is seen in the role of a pilot named Sharan Dev. He asks the passengers to sit comfortably. This is when suddenly five masked terrorists hold them at gunpoint.

Now this 1 minute 10 second teaser has increased the curiosity for the series. This series has been directed by Trishant Srivastava along with Anubhav Sinha. Both of them have also written its story together. This series is going to be presented in 6 episodes. The then National Advisor Ajit Doval was also involved in this operation to rescue the passengers from ‘IC 814’.
