In 2022, some of the biggest box office successes were films such as RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Vikram, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Drishyam 2.
Despite these blockbusters, there were also several films that performed poorly at the box office and became some of the biggest commercial failures of all time.
These films featured some of the biggest stars in the industry, resulting in significant losses for Box Office India.

Prabhas
Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starred in the fantasy romantic drama Radhe Shyam, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and produced with a budget of over Rs 300 crore.
Unfortunately, the movie was one of the few South Indian films to incur a loss of more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
Kangana Ranaut
Razneesh Ghai’s spy action thriller, “Dhaakad”, starring Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta, was made with a budget of over Rs 100 crore.
Unfortunately, it became one of the biggest box office flops of all time, making just Rs 3.5 crore in India.
Chiranjeevi
Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan starred in the movie Acharya, which was directed by Koratala Siva and cost an estimated 140 crore to make.

Unfortunately, the film was a box office flop, resulting in a loss of 100 crore.
Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan, a perfectionist in Hindi cinema, did not achieve commercial success with his highly anticipated adaptation of Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha.
Despite a large budget of nearly 200 crore, the film, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, only earned 58.73 crore in India.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar had a terrible year at the box office as all 4 of his theatrical releases flopped with Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s Samrat Prithviraj which was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 175 crore failing to touch even Rs 70 crore in India.
Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir’s first release in four years, Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, did not meet the expectations of audiences and only earned 42.48 crore in India on a reported budget of 150 crore.
However, Ranbir’s next release, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, was a huge success and was the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year.
Saif Ali Khan & Hrithik Roshan
Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan teamed up for the action film Vikram Vedha, an official remake of the 2017 Tamil film of the same name.
Directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, the budget for the film reportedly exceeded 100 crore due to Hrithik Roshan’s refusal to shoot at real locations in Uttar Pradesh, causing the production to build sets in a studio instead.
