Know The Full Story of Gangubai Kathiawadi
The story comes from the state of Gujarat’s Kathiawadi area where Ganga is born. She belongs to a good family and her father is a barrister but love take her to a different route. She fell in love with a boy Ramnik who used to work with Ganga’s father.
Ramnik promised to Ganga in pursuing her dream of becoming a heroine in Bollywood and convince her to ran away with him. But that was a trap and Ramnik sells her in thousand to the streets of Kamathipura which is full of sex workers and lustful men.

Heart-broken Ganga struggles to get out of the situation but could not do so. Finally, she accepts Kamathipura as her home and all the girls of brothel as her family. This is when she meet Don Karim Lala( Ajay Devgan).
Her bond with Karim gets stronger each day and she sees him as her brother. Young Ganga gets deeply connected with sex workers and want to transform their life. In the process, she transforms herself as Gangu to fight against the greedy, lustful and dangerous gangsters of the area.
But her battle to provide rights and dignity of sex workers of the area did not stop at any cost. In this tough battle, Gangubai makes her hard as rock and faces all challenges to fight this social stigma.

Not even for a single second Alia let her identity overpowers the character. She served everything that her role demands, that fierce look, emotions of young and naive ganga and how she struggled to became undisputed mafia queen. Alia carries forward all these with powerful dialogues and supreme confidence.
She has shut everyone’s mouth who thought Alia can do only soft and glamorous roles. Javed Akhtar, Neetu Kapoor, Maliaka Arora, Vicky Kaushal and other celebrities have also praised Alia for her stupendous performance.
SLB once again showed his narrative skills that can fuel life to any story and with Alia and Ajay on his side, the story did magic on screen. Ajay as usual showed how well he fits to any role whether a police officer or gangster.

Apart from these two actors, others were also good and did enough to support and uplift the main character. The only disappointing part is that filmmakers fail to show enough struggle of Gangu when she was new to this brothel life.
That could have connected and brought more emotion in the audience, rest is absolutely impressive. The movie is worth watching so go and get your tickets now. The film is released in cinemas on 25th February 2022.
