Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is set to be screened in cinemas again on this date.

The 2001 Bollywood hit, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, starring Sunny Deol, is set to be shown again globally on June 15, an official declared.

The re-release of the movie about the partition of India comes two months before the release of its sequel Gadar 2: The Katha Continues on August 11. Anil Sharma, the director of both the original and the follow-up, produced by Zee Studios, is behind the decision to re-release the first film on the day it was first released 19 years ago in an effort to stir up hype for the sequel.

On Wednesday, Shilpa shared a video of herself dancing to the hook steps from Wednesday’s special dance sequence from the movie Gadar.

She captioned the post with several hashtags, including ‘Wednesday Dance’ and ‘Addams Family.’ Wearing a black sports bra and black pants, Shilpa’s hair was tied in a braid like Jenna Ortega from the show and she had a very serious expression on her face. Additionally, it has been announced that Zee Studios will be re-releasing part one of the movie Gadar in a digitally restored format on June 15, with director Anil Sharma expressing his delight at the interest being shown in the movie.

For the sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, both Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will be reprising their roles of Tara Singh and Sakina respectively.

Gadar released on the same day as Aamir Khan-starrer Lagaan, making it one of the biggest box office battles of the time. However, the film opened to huge box office success. Now, for the sequel, Deol and Patel will be reprising their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina, respectively.
