Two Ph.D. students of Stanford University developed a search engine that was not expected to lead the online world. It was technically founded on 4th September the same year but founders Larry Page and Sergey Berin decided to mark Google’s birthday after 13 days. Why?
On 27th September 1998, its founders announced one of the achievements of Google. The search engine indexed a record-breaking number of pages that day.
That’s not it, the search engine had a different name then and you can’t even imagine it.

Larry and Sergey were working on a research project before Google. The project was aimed to analyze the backlinks of websites. It was then named BackRub.

Unlike today, Google had no office then and it was being operated from a garage in California. Later, it rented the space from YouTube’s CEO Susan Wojcicki.
3. The First Tweet
Had Google a human, it would have made its first tweet something nice like- Hey There, I Am Google. But Did you know what the first tweet was? It’s “I’m feeling lucky” the more interesting fact is that it was unreadable as the tweet was made in binary.
