This leads to discomfort and difficulty in breathing properly as extra gas will affect your diaphragm. Moreover, it will cause weight gain thus your diaphragm will feel extra pressure which again affects your breathing.

So, ditch the fried chicken, onion rings, french fries, and other fried foods.

No Cheese And Other Dairy Products

Milk is absolutely healthy as it gives calcium and other vital nutrients for the bones and other body organs. Still, it’s a complete no for those with lung diseases as milk contains a chemical that leads to mucus production in the intestine.

This extra production will cause more cough and wheezing in COPD patients. Therefore, they should not drink milk, especially at night. Also, limit the consumption of ice cream, butter, and other dairy produce. Look for alternatives of milk like almond or soy milk.

Undoubtedly, green veggies are the healthiest of all as they are rich in vitamin K, C, E, folate, and other nutrients. Fiber is especially high in broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, and other cruciferous vegetables. Thus, they are highly recommended for weight loss.

But too much fiber is bad for COPD as it causes indigestion and bloating issues.

Nitrates in processed foods will make COPD patients suffer more. Therefore, they should decrease the consumption of cold cuts meats like ham, bacon, and other processed meats.
